Create an Upsell Flow

An upsell flow defines the pages, products, and pricing shown to customers after checkout. Inside the flow, you can assign upsell pages, configure products, add downsells, and control how offers are displayed.

Follow these steps to create an upsell flow:

  1. Log in to your Phoenix dashboard.

  2. In the left panel, go to Stores.

  3. Select the store.

  4. Select the Post Upsell Builder tab.

  5. Select or create an existing smart upsell funnel.

  6. Click + Add Upsell Page & Create Funnel.

  7. In the Funnel Builder tab, configure the upsell group:

    • Upsell Page: Select the upsell page that will be shown to the customer.

    • Product Capacity: Define how many products can be displayed or selected in this upsell step.

    • Assign Products: Select the product(s) you want to offer in this upsell.

    • Product Variants: Choose the variant(s) available for the upsell product. You can add all variants or select specific ones.

    • Discount Amount: Enter the discount to apply to the upsell product. This can be a percentage (%) or a fixed amount.

    • Select Shipping: Choose how shipping is handled:

      • Paid: Shipping price field becomes active.
      • Free: Shipping price is set to $0.00 automatically.
    • Shipping Price: Only editable when Paid shipping is selected.

    • Product Price: Automatically calculated based on product price, selected variant, and discount (cannot be edited).

    • Total Upsell Price: Automatically calculated as Product Price + Shipping Price.

    • Display Price: Enter custom text shown to the customer (for example: “Only $80 today”).

  8. Click + Add Downsell to offer an alternative if the upsell is declined.

  9. Configure the downsell fields (same structure as the upsell):

    • Downsell Page
    • Product Capacity
    • Assign Products
    • Product Variants
    • Discount Amount
    • Shipping option
    • End Funnel if Downsell Is Declined: When a downsell is added, the option End funnel if downsell is declined becomes available.

      • Checked: The funnel ends if the customer declines the downsell.

      • Unchecked: The funnel continues to the next upsell group (if any).

      Use this option when:
      • The downsell is the final offer in the funnel.

      • You want to end the post-purchase experience after the downsell.

  10. Click + Add Another Upsell Group to add more upsell/downsell sequences (optional).

  11. Click Continue.

  12. Review the funnel configuration and click Submit.

  13. Turn on the Active toggle to activate the upsell flow.

  14. (Optional) Click Preview to see how the upsell flow will appear to customers.

After publishing, the upsell flow becomes active and will be shown to customers when the smart funnel conditions are met.
